Madonna admits she "wasn't very happy" when daughter Lourdes, 15, was photographed smoking a cigarette not too long ago.

In an interview with Harry Smith, airing on tonight's Rock Center With Brian Williams on NBC, the single mother of four says she probably needs to be "tougher" with her kids.

"It's hard, though. …Every day is a negotiation. But cigarette smoking I'm not very fond of, for anyone. I don't approve of anyone smoking cigarettes, most of all my daughter."

But, says Smith in an oh-so-friendly way, what about the fact that Madge herself is seen puffing away in her new music video for Girl Gone Wild?

"I don't smoke. That's just an accessory, Harry. There's a difference," Madonna pointed out. "She smoked that cigarette before I did that video, so she didn't get that from me, OK?"
