Mrs. O, Ann Romney 'comfort' Robin Roberts

Robin Roberts thanked viewers this morning for the outpourting of support she has received since Monday's announcement.

"I slept like a baby last night for the first night since my diagnosis," said Roberts, 51, at the top of today's Good Morning America. She revealed she has a rare blood disorder MDS, or myelodysplastic syndrome, on Monday's show.

"My family and I are overwhelmed and comforted by the response from everyone."

Co-anchor George Stephanoupolos read a tweet Michelle Obama sent to her:

"Barack and I have you in our prayers. We believe in you and thank you for bringing awareness and hope to others. –mo"

And Roberts added that she had a "lovely conversation with Ann Romney who has had her health challenges." Romney was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998.

Among the many who have tweeted well-wishes to Roberts: Katie Couric, Kristin Chenoweth, Josh Groban, Gayle King and Rob Lowe.

Said Roberts, "It really has been very comforting."
